In-Store pre-orders must be cancelled in person at the store where they were placed.
There is no way to cancel an in-store pre-order:
- Online
- By phone
- Through Customer Service
✅ What You Need to Do
To cancel an in-store pre-order:
- Visit the same GameStop store where the pre-order was originally placed
- Ask a store associate to process the cancellation
- Bring your original form of payment to receive your refund
✅ Store associates will assist you during the visit.
⚠️ Important Store-Level Limits (Common Issues)
- Pre-orders cannot be cancelled over the phone
- Store associates cannot move reservation funds to:
- Another pre-order
- A different item
- Another store location
- Only the original store can access and cancel that pre-order
Other GameStop locations do not have access to pre-orders placed at a different store.
When You Don’t Need to Contact GameStop
You generally don’t need Customer Service if:
- You were told cancellation must be done in store
- The store asked you to return in person
- Another store couldn’t access your pre-order
- You want to move reservation funds (this isn’t supported)
