Ways to Pay at GameStop

GameStop offers several payment options so you can choose what works best for you. 

 Important: We don’t charge your payment method until your order ships. 
What you may see when placing an order is a temporary authorization, not a completed charge.

GameStop accepts all major credit and debit cards:  

  • American Express 
  • Discover 
  • MasterCard 
  • Visa 

⚠️ Important: 

  • An order can only have one active credit/debit card at a time

PayPal 

You can choose PayPal during checkout and sign in securely to complete your purchase. 


Zip 

You can choose Zip during checkout to split your GameStop purchase into 4 or 8 scheduled payments.

GameStop Credit Card 

Qualifying customers can apply for the GameStop Credit Card either: 

  • Online 
  • In store 

If approved, it can be used as an alternative payment method.

You can use physical or digital GameStop gift cards 

Key things to know: 

  • You can use up to 2 gift cards per order 
  • Some digital items are not eligible for purchase with gift cards

Trade Cards (In-Store Only) 

Trade cards are in-store credit issued from completed trade-ins and can be used toward purchases in store.

  • Cash payments are accepted only in store 
  • Cash cannot be used for online orders.

When You Don’t Need to Contact GameStop 

You usually don’t need support assistance if: 

  • You see a pending authorization before shipment 
  • Your card hasn’t been charged yet 
  • You can only add one credit card to an order 
  • A digital item can’t be purchased with a gift card 
  • Cash isn’t accepted for online orders 

These are expected payment behaviors. 

 

⏱️ When Should I Contact GameStop? 

Contact GameStop only if: 

  • You see a completed charge but the order never shipped 
  • A payment method failed unexpectedly 
  • You believe an authorization did not drop off after shipping/cancellation 
  • You need clarification on eligibility for a specific payment type
