How Do I Place an Order on GameStop.com?

Modified on Fri, 24 Apr at 12:43 PM

Placing an order on GameStop.com is quick and can usually be done without contacting support.

You can check out as a guest, but creating an account makes it easier to track, manage, and return orders.

⚠️ Shipping availability:
GameStop currently ships only within the continental U.S.

 StepbyStep: Place Your Order

1️ Find Your Item

  • Browse GameStop.com
  • Select the exact version you want (new, preowned, digital, etc.)
  • Add it to your cart

When Will I Be Charged?

  • When you place an order, GameStop places a temporary authorization on your payment method
  •  You are NOT fully charged until the order ships
  • If the order is cancelled, the authorization drops automatically

Seeing a pending charge before shipment is normal.

⚠️ Trouble Placing an Order Online?

If your order won’t process online:

  •  No need to panic
  • You can visit a local GameStop store
  • A store associate can place the order online for you and ship it directly to your home

When You Don’t Need to Contact GameStop

You usually don’t need support assistance if:

  • You’re seeing a pending authorization
  • Checkout fails due to payment or address validation
  • You want to place the order in store instead
  • You checked out as a guest intentionally

These are expected checkout scenarios.

⏱️ When Should I Contact GameStop?

Contact GameStop only if:

  • You can’t complete checkout online or in store
  • Your order was placed but you never received a confirmation email
  • Your authorization hasn’t dropped after a cancelled order
