Content Codes VS Code to Currency Codes
Code-to Content.
Sometimes, manufacturers will sell their download codes directly which means you purchase the game from GameStop and you receive a code which can be entered directly into the redemption area of your console for the content.
Code-to-Currency.
Sometimes, manufacturers will release games and DLC on their online store for downloads and not provide codes to purchase directly from retailers like GameStop. For this type of content, GameStop will sell digital Currency so customers can pre-order the items and receive pre-order bonuses. This can also be currency for you to spend on their market places for in-game items and boosts.
!!NOTE!! - Code to Currency purchases do not cover the tax of the game, so when you redeem the code on your console, you must pay the tax cost.
