Fortnite V-Bucks are redeemed through Epic Games, not GameStop.
The exact steps depend on which platform you play on.
✅ Make sure the Epic Games account you use matches your in-game display name—this is the most common cause of issues.
✅ Step-by-Step: Redeem Your V-Bucks Code
Step 1: Log In to Your Epic Games Account
- Go to Epic Games and sign in
- If redeeming for console, you can log in using your console credentials
- Confirm the display name under Account Information matches your in-game name
Step 2: Start the V-Bucks Card Redemption
- Hover over your display name (top right)
- Select V-Bucks Card
- Click Get Started
- Enter the PIN code (no dashes)
- Click Next
Step 3: Choose Your Gaming Platform
- Select the platform where you want the V-Bucks added
- Click Next
- Review the details:
- Epic account
- Device/platform
- New V-Bucks balance
- Click Confirm
What Happens Next Depends on Your Platform
✅ PC, Nintendo Switch, or Mobile
- Launch Fortnite
- Your V-Bucks will be available to spend immediately
✅ Xbox or PlayStation (Important Extra Step)
If you selected Xbox or PlayStation:
- A secondary code is generated after confirmation
- You must redeem this code on:
- Microsoft (Xbox), or
- Sony (PlayStation)
- The secondary code:
- Is 12 or 25 characters
- Is shown on screen and emailed to you
Once redeemed on Microsoft or Sony, the V-Bucks will be added to your Fortnite account.
When You Don’t Need to Contact GameStop
You usually don’t need GameStop support if:
- You redeemed V-Bucks through Epic Games
- You’re on Xbox or PlayStation and still need to redeem the secondary code
- V-Bucks were added after completing both steps
- The code was redeemed on Epic’s platform (this is expected)
GameStop cannot redeem or transfer Fortnite V-Bucks.
⏱️ When Should I Contact Support?
Contact Epic Games Support if:
- The Epic account doesn’t match your in-game account
- The primary redemption fails
- V-Bucks don’t appear after completing all steps
Contact Microsoft or Sony Support if:
- The secondary code fails to redeem on Xbox or PlayStation
Contact GameStop only if:
- The V-Bucks code was never delivered
- The code is missing from your order confirmation
